My new chalkboard wall!

ok So Ive wanted a chalkboard wall in our house for a while.. I love the idea of writing messages to brandon every night.. and waking up to ones taht he writes back. I thought the kids would also love it.. They love to color. So I found this old frame loved the shape was perfect size for the picture I had blown up.. I took it into michaels and they custom fit some glass for me. I like the gold but wanted more color suprise eh? So I sanded the frame and painted it with seafoam from benjamin moore.  I also love canvas pictures of families.. but I find that If we get new pictures every year Id rather just pay for an enlargement. and change the color of the frame every year.

Then I  painted my chalkboard wall! I love the doodling around the picture frame within a frame.  I also love that I can customize it for holidays or parties. We've already put it to great use and it's one of my favorite spot in the house.

cute hardware

So Brooke sent me the link to this adorable hardware idea for my hot pink table-
is it not a fun idea?
OH I LOVE HAVING A GIRL
Heres a couple other fav's- which one do you like? I want to find an old junky dresser and redo it with some of this hardware too. Keshia found one at value village and its quite a treasure!
Anyone up for a trip to the junkyard?
I'm excited for a spring of redoing couches chairs and dressers. There's something about taking something old and making it new again that thrills the heck out of me.

Junk Yard Treasures made into a nightstand...

Remember that legendary trip to the junk yard where I got my couch... and chair.. well I'm still working on reupholstering them- all the fabric/ buttons/staples are out- I actually found old candy wrappers from the 50's in there! Now I just have to find the right fabric...but the point is that wasnt the only treasure I found that day- I found some old suitcases-I had an idea in my head of making them into a nightstand for the boys room..and I finally got around to doing it with the help of my dad. We bolted the suitcases together so the boys can't rip them apart. so there you go a free nightstand thats unique and so much fun! Really people Junkyards are a girls best friend!
