I had a truly blissful day

I'm so glad I found and married him. He's one in a million and I wake up every day still as in love with him as when we were dating- as cheesy as that may sound it's true. He's a wonderful person.
Example 1-He let me sleep in- he does this a lot on saturdays because he knows how stressful the boys can be for me while I'm pregnant and how much I love to sleep in sometimes and saturdays are the only day thats an option so he'll take them from 7-9- It's like heaven he'll change them get them breakfast and I don't have to worry about a thing and.....as if that wasn't enough today I hear the door open he's holding smiley Greyson in his arms and a plate with toast and jam and some hot chocolate- just for me!-wanted to wake me up and make me smile- Needless to say it made my whole month having him think of me. How selfless. His smile when he woke me up was priceless.
Example 2-We're up for about an hour and decide its time to shower so we start heading to the bathroom and Greyson starts to cry- I shrug it off and go how do you think I shower every day? He goes ohh Bree he has big tears-and proceeds to go play with him. Wow- what a guy- how selfish am I?
k and again I get out of the shower and what do I hear- Him singing ring around the rosies holding both boys hands and listening to them giggle. He's learned lots from nursery! My heart was officially melted by then. So I go join in and we sing songs for about an hour with the boys in our room- they really like london bridges and sleeping bunnies- it was such a happy moment for me and made my home feel so full of love.
Example 3- we went on a date tonight and he let me get popcorn and a cup full of ice- I'm pretty iron deficient and I can't get enough ice- and he deals with me chewing on it incessantly. In fact just laughs at my weird hormonal issues. I love that he loves to feel her. I can tell when he starts to get excited about having a new little one around- it dosn't hit him until I'm about ready to pop. But it's fun to see his eyes light up with excitement. He took the day off on Tuesday so I can go get a massage to help my neck and legs feel better. When he did that last time I was pregnant with the boys I bawled because it felt so good and I got to lay on my stomach because they have a hole in the table. I'm a stomach sleeper so the last month is hard on me because I can't sleep very well- can you tell I'm up blogging at 1:40 am.

old fashioned drive in

What do you do for dates when you have two twin toddlers-you get creative-this is Brandon at his best techie self- he made our own drive in movie theatre so we could watch movies outside.
Its truly like a real date- out of your house! I was so giddy getting popcorn ready!
We downloaded our movie off I tunes onto our laptop connected it to the tv and used our fm transmitter to plug that into our speakers- We had such a fun night. I love my husband-he's so ingenious to me.
I love that Brandon and I still have fun together and we do crazy things and our babies havn't stopped our crazyness. We watched swiss family robinson this week-cheesy but sooo good!-if your on the lookout for a good movie.

The kindness of a stranger
So I went grocery shopping today which is hard to do with baby twins. My stroller will hold the boys and thats about it. So i figured out a way to go grocery shopping I take the boys in their seats and put them in the shopping cart and then every time I need to put something in the cart I lift one of the boys up and put it under them. I always feed and change the boys before i go anywhere so it gives me the most time i can withot them getting upset. Well today was there total meltdown. They were fine until I got to the cash register and then all the sudden Harrison started screaming and because Harrison was crying Greyson started( I find they do this with each other) So there I am at superstore because its cheaper to get grocery's there- the only problem you have to bag yoru own grocerys and put them in your cart. Less employees means lower prices. Anyways They both start screaming at the checkout- I'm not about to leave because we need grocery's. I'm ready to break down and sob they were both so loud and i was just trying to keep it together putting my groceries in the bags. everyones looking at me like i'm this horrible mother and It was just bad. I couldnt help them cause i had to put my groceries in the cart. anyways I start to cry as i walk out of the store with 2 wailing little boys- i go to put them in my car and a lady runs over to me and says here let me help you. something so simple as helping me put my groceries in the car menat the world to me. I needed help so bad and someone took a minute to care. so to whomever you are I hope someone does something kind for you too. Just a little message that you never know how much you can mean to someone by serving them.

3 year anniversary

So for our Third anniversary I thought Id write about the top 3 things I love about Brandon.
#1 He keeps good on his promise to make me laugh every day. He looks so sweet and quiet but my husband is hilarious! I've never been around someone that can come up with quick witted amazing comments for everything. He suprises me,makes me laugh and we just enjoy every day life together. Thats one thing I think makes a great relationship is humour.
#2 His Love of learning. I love how Brandon always loves to learn and how smart he is. He loves finding out new information and can always answer my questions and if not we find out together. We'll watch a movie and ill ask a question and hell wip out his i pod get online and wikipedia it for me so i can know the answer. I love his love for different cultures and places. I know we'll travel many more places together- were best friend traveling buddies!
#3 Brandon has such a respect for others and patience. Over all he has a huge heart. I love that I get to see this part of him. Whether its cuddling with his sons every night. Or being greatful for a nice gessture. Hes such a practical thinker- we go so well together. I'm impulsive and OCD and he reminds me not to worry and relax. We go together like cereal and milk :)
Sooo for our anniversary this year we decided to just do something around Calgary. Every year weve usually gone somewhere for our anniversary but the boys made it a little difficult this year- not thats thats bad-were planning on going somewhere in febuary(to escape calgary coldness). We like to go somewhere to celebrate and make a big deal out of our anniversary. Its a special day for us. And you never know how many you'll have. So we make them awesome and save for them all year-since traveling is our hobby together thats what we like doing every year. Our first year was mexico second was paris third was disneyworld- We decided to do this new thing where We each plan every other year so were suprised. I have brandon this year. So For today I sent him this thing called an edible arrangement its choc dipped fruit cut out with cookie cutter to look like an arrangment and i sent it to his work. nummy Ill post a picture- (i know only i would make him take a picture of it) I wanted to see how they did it and maybe i can make them)then I have a suprise for him next weekend- Ill blog about it later but I can't give away what were doing- I'm pretty excited for it though. Its amazing what you can find right in your own city! I love you Brandon!- from your cheesy wife

Married life in the burg/graduation/moving to canada

So after we got married Brandon and I both needed one more semester to finish our degrees his bachelors and my associates - we had decided to move to canada afetr he finished school because of the great oppertunity for jobs in what he wanted to do...trading for an oil company. I was excited about a new adventure in life and was totally up for it. I remember that being one of the hardest semesters for me. id gone non stop to school with no break since i graduated from highschool and was burned out. And all we wanted to do was be with each other. We lived in a small one bedroom apt in a plce called university courtyard-the plus was it was close to camand having a general authority speak at graduation is really cool. We were there right before pus- usually married housing is farther away so it was nice we could still walk to class- i sold my car that semester-because it wouldve been a hastle to try and get it into canada. So that left us with brandons toyots tacoma- in the middle of winter - it was a stick and even though i tried i couldnt get the hang of it in the snow there-so when we went up for our second reception in calgary we traded cars with brandons brother barrett and got the xterra. I still miss that car gotta love the remote starter. Finally after a long semester and all the adjustments of being newly weds it was graduation time- i remember feeling sad i was leaving but excited for the new adventure. we got to sit next to each other at graduation that was really cool. We were there right before david bednar was called as an apostle- he was the pres of byu-i at the time- i heard him every tuesday at devotional. It felt so good to graduate like i was halfway towards my goal-even though i hadnt picked a solid major yet id changed 2 times from theatre education to interior design- i was so confused on what i wanted to do. The move to canada was crazy-we started working on immigration papers-and for anyone whos done it they know its not fun and it takes forever. I had to get medical checks be fingerprinted get fbi reports and basiclly tell my life story on paper and submit it to lawyers with pictures of my whole life to prove i wasnt lying just to live in canada- it was crazy i feel bad for people going the other way into the states- ive heard its harder-we had eventful times whenever we crossed the border and we waited for my work permit for a year- the worst part is they wont let you go to school or work until you are a landed immigrant i was so bored and antsy that year-it was really tough on me-because i wanted to get school done. Im so glad we had a lawyer to help us figure the whole process out he helped a lot. I finally got my alberta health card and work permit and things started looking up- UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE IS AMAZING! your sick you go to the doctor they pay for everthing- i love it the states needs it so bad so peole arnt afraid to go to the doctor- what a freedom. I started working for Pier 1 imports as a manager when i got my work permit and started up school again. I decided to take some event planning classes and see how i liked them- i knew immediatley it was something i wanted to do- but i also wanted a degree on top of it so i tried thinking of what would work well with event planning and business seemed like a good option with an emphasis in either hospitaility and tourism or entrapreneurship-sorry i know i spelled that wrong. afetr about a year i got my permanent redident card amd officially welcome in canada. I have another 3 years before i can apply for citizenship- how exciting-thnk heavens to the johnsons for helping me through that crazy time and helping me get into canada smoothly i owe them big and love them big for it.

Our wedding

well lets see where do i start- the week of our wedding was very chaotic- we had a week of the semester before we got married and brandon was living in our new apartment our tiny one bedroom apartment-ill have to post pics of how freakin small this place was- anyways- I stayed with some good friends i met during the summer before- jewels kim and kate-baronessa projects-they were so sweet to let me stay! Brandon and I went to classes that week and unpacked our schmag into the new apartment it was weird and fun at the same time. We even had an eternal marriage class together lol-so we drive down to utah the night before and barley make it to ogden in time to get our marriage license.phew- that would've been bad-then we drove down to salt lake city-we just happened to both be staying at the same hotels with our families- right in front of the temple- that night we all got in the pool and swam with the little kids- it was a lot of fun- you could see the temple reflect in the pool from across the street- to make it even funner my bridesmaid emily was there that night to help have fun- cori was flying in the next day and steph would be there the next day also. My sisters had a connecting room which made for a fun filled evening of laughing emm always makes me so happy i'm glad she was there the night before- our friend from school trevor also came down that night and stayed with Brandon. We all ate at chilis and i dont remember a lot more than that because i was so tired and excited at the same time- it had been a very long week and couple months trying to plan a wedding in utah from rexburg. The next day i was up bright and early and me and my sister acacia went to get our hair done at a salon at the zcmi center- she did an awesome job i loved my hair that day. too bad cacias lady like the poof - cacia went back and had to redo hers cause it was giving her a headache- woops-then back to the hotel to grab all my stuff- my dress was really big so i opted to wear my temple dress for the ceremony and change into my other dress after. I remember thinking to myself that morning I'm so happy I've never been happier- and that moment got better when i met brandon at the temple- he looked so nice and polished and genuinley happy also. The day had finally come. The morning could not have been more beautiful an end of summer crispness with all the beatuiful sunshine and flowers. I was in my element. We went into the temple to sign all the paperworkthen we were seperated i changed and put my dress in the brides room- which is so beautiful-we then met with our sealer and he took about half an hour talking to us. i'll always remember that he told us to have fun togetheralong with 5 other points that we've tried to base our marriage on. The ceremony was beautiful i felt so close to heaven and to brandon a lot of things i feel to personal to write about. all i can say is that it felt like i was in heaven. I've never felt the way abouut brandon as when i looked at him in that room. Heavy with love. After all was said and done- we went to get changed- my dress took forever to put on because it laced up the back and had many layers. I think barrett or cori and emily went to the joseph smith memorial building to get my flowers. I was really worried about how my flowers would turn out- i told the florist i liked unconventional weird stuff- and somehow wanted to incorporate tulips- which were out of season she warned me they might not be in good shape so when my mom handed me my bouquet i got choked up- it was the most beautiful thing i'd ever seen. I loved it and the boutineres were cool too. Brandon was sitting waiting for me and i remember his jaw dropping when he saw me with a big smile going across his face he hadnt ever seen my dress or accesscories a lot of which were my grandmas. he pulled me aside and just held me for a second and we had that fun little moment of being husband and wife before everyone saw us. Travis gugelman soon came into view- our photographer- little did i know i would be posing for about 4 hours now- hply cow this guy took 1700 pictures that day-but he was so worth it- My pictures are so precius to me and he did an astounding job-he had us walk out and the first person i saw was my dear friend cori whod flown from california to be my bridesmaid i was so excited to see her-then i looked around at all my family and was so excited to party and talk to everyone. My flower girls were there looking adorable megan and moragan schofiled- girls i taught dance too and brandon little cousin eve. We took the traditional family pictures which i wasnt to keen on- like i said i appreciate weird fun stuff- then travis wisked us off- we went all around downtown and the grounds and the joseph smith memorial building- and at one point someone stopped us by the street and said are you guys models or are you really getting married- it made us laugh so hard. we waited around for this fountain to turn on for a while and a security guard came up to us --we were like uh oh what happened- he asks- are you brandon johnson..brandon said yes i am - wel sir we have a bag that belongs to you in the waiting room of the temple- joel was in charge of this very importnat bag- aka the passport bagand vouchers for our honeymoon to mexico- thank heavens the guard recognized him came looking for us and we were still there taking pictures 4 hours later- can you imagine the next morning freaking out! we give joel a hard time on this one lol- finally we were allowed to go back and change- brandon came to my fams hotel room and we ordered pizza along with cori emm and trev in the room we all got slap happy and started playing wth the mattresses-ill post pics- then brandon went to get ready for the reception and em cori and i went to go find some pic frames for pics travis had given me that day to display so we went to the gateway..to be continued

Our engagement photo session.

Ok so I have to say that Travis gugelman is the best photographer in the world. I loved the pictures he took of us and he was so fun and personable. I told him at the beginning that I like very different photograaphy anything modern and funky was right up our ally. He was excited that i gave him the freedom to go crazy. At the end of our shoot he asked well would you guys be willing to do something crazy for me- we were like hmm depends..he said do you mind getting wet? We both look at each other like COOL! the only problem Brandon was down visiting from Calgary(doing his internship while i was in rexburg-pure torture for us engaged lovebirds) to get pictures done and didnt have a change of clothes- so Travis took us to his house and let brandon put on some of his jeans- lol when he took us to the river which is right by artic circle in rexburg the pants were too big on brandon-and believe it or not the water was moving pretty fast. So we were trying to stay balanced and not have his pants fall down it was a moment i will never forget- so spontanious and fun-and we hadnt seen each other in a while so wheni look at these pictures i love that you can see pure love in our eyes.

engagement part 2...
The next day we woke upand started the drive to anaheim which is about an hour from redlnds. Brandon was silent the whole time! I was so scared I was like oh no is he not having fun with me whats wrong what did i say is he mad- typical bree worrying about everything. We got to disneylnd and i lit up like a lightpost its one of my favorite places in the world no worries or cares. You get to feel free. I strted jumping up and down and brandon smiled - I was still worried why he wasnt excited- we went over to the castle and brandon said he wanted a picture of me in front of the castle- i go over and pose and thats when he slipped the ring into his pocket- he then procede to say hey come here i wanna show you something- we walked under the castle and he was looking for something- i came to find out later he was looking for the stirs tht go up the castle but thats in disneyland paris-and he got them mixed up oops- so he was a little panicked then he looked around and took me to this little corner around the side of the castle thats right over the water by snow whites wishing well. I was still trying to figure out what he was looking for- a shortcut to a ride...he then pulled me into his arms and said bree..i started cluing in to what was happening this is the happiest place in the worls and nothing would make me happier than if you would be my wife. i have to admit I was a little shocked . I was not expecting nything like this wed maybe discussed rings once- never gone and looked at them...( dont worry he picked out a gorgeous emerald cut suspended ring something unique yet classy i love it- I didnt say a word -brandonstarted to get worried-he then side bree its a yes or no question- i was like oh sorry!!!! I love you cry cry of course ill marry you-I was in a total state of bliss and these random chinese people took picture of us . The whole day was like a dream spending it with my new fiance in disneyland. we ended the day with the most amazing firework show as i just lay there in his arms. One of the best days of my life. The next day we went to huntington beach played in the ocean and even saw dolphins it was an awesome trip-i still float on air every time i think about it. Hes amazing!

Getting engaged...

Can i Just say I have the best husband in the world. When i tell how we got engaged everyone guy in our ward goes up to Brandon and says man you gotta knock it down a couple so we look good :) Yes i will say that at least to me i have the most romantic engagement story ever. So During the summer I was still in rexburg Brandon was doing his internship in Calgary. We were away from each other and it was awful- despite the time i flew to calgary and suprised him he he eh- Thank heavens for instant messenger. We both hate the phone funny eh..anyways( dont worry we still called each other) I had a break during the summer semesters -back when they still did that at byu-i and i asked Brandon if he was going to come to idaho to visit me over the break- he said that it sounded like fun but he downplayed it and i was all worried he wasnt excited to see me. Then a couple days before he was supposed to come down he gets on im and says get your stuff packed cause were going to california! Hed bought me a plane ticket to go to california. My old roomates Cori and Emily are from Redlands and we planned on staying with them when we got there. Brandon got to idaho and we literally jumped in each others arms-he came during a huge rainstorm- one that filled the gutters on the slope of colonial house- ill always remember it caus ei was worried about him getting to my apt safe and sound. We packed our bags and I can't remember if we left in the morning or that night- we drove to utah to my parents house and spent the night then the next day my dad took us to tha airport in slc. We flew to vegas had a layover there(once again thank heavens for the dvd player)then flew into ontario airport. We rented a car-gotta love joels connections with the avis dude. And Brandon was thrilled when the lady said wow your getting a great deal on this! From there we drove to redlands to Cori's house. It was so fun to see all my dear friends. I seriously think i was supposed to be born in redlands cause we have tons of friends from there..anywyas cori had just had surgery so she was on the couch and emm was sitting on the couch eating a popcycle. We talked for a while and i had to go to the bathroom and while i was gone brandon asked cori and emm if his special package arrived- aka he shipped the ring to california so i wouldnt find it in his bag. Cori and emm didnt know it was a ring- so they were excited- brandon hadnt even seen the ring yet cause he purchased it from canada at a store in idaho falls. It was the first time hed gotten to see the ring too. That night anisha(sachin-brandons roomates twin sister) emm brandon and i drove to universal city walk- kind've like downtown disney and just spent the night there having fun eating dinner. The next day we were planning on going to disneyland -and if any of you know me and how much i love disneyland- I basically coudnt sleep the whole night- brandon for another reason... to be continued

The beginning of us....

The time : An evening in June of 2004
The place: Rexburg Idaho, Nauvoo girls apartment 311
What: The start of something so amazing
The first time I met Brandon I was coming back to my apartment from a trip home to Utah for the weekend. I was hauling my stuff upstairs I opened the door and my roomates Cori and Emily had our other friend sachin there with one of his roomates(Brandon). I know this may sound a little cheesy and sappy movie like. But from the moment I first saw him something inside of me said your supposed to be together. I was awestruck by this feeling just staring at him my jaw dropped with how handsome this guy was. Needless to say it turned out to be the best summer of my life and led to something even more special to my heart. I begged my roomates to see if he had a girlfriend....yes! he's available. now how do I get him to ask me out....yes! his roomates. So thanks to Sachin Brent and Trevor I now have my wonderful husband. ( I didnt know he was a little shy at the time) So when he called I remember being so excited. Emily and I jumped around the partment for a minute. He took me to a movie and dinner at chilis. It was here I was first introduced to Johnson cuisine... chips and salsa. We played a game with the coasters and i remember it being a blast. The rest of the summer followed with great memories-bridge jumping dam sliding the fun itinerary coloring contests movie making and being around some of my best friends in the world. You know thers always those people who you'll never forget and my friends that summer have enriched my life so much. I'll forever have my happiest memories from that summer. I was falling more for one of my best friends. I loved how smart he was. How he loved to learn. Something I value very high. I loved how he talked about his family, and acted around his adoarble cousins when we went out to terraton! If anyone whos reading this ever gets a chance to go, it's now one of my favorite places,so full of love. I'd watch him play with the kids and imagine us being a family someday. I was defiantley in love. Our first kiss was the most romantic evening I've ever had. We took his black tacoma out with bean bags in the back and watched indiana jones in the middle of a field- with a shower of shooting stars over us. The best part was knowing he was shy and how gutsy he was that night to kiss me. I never wanted the summer to end. But i was preparing to go to anotyher school in the fall. I missed hom so much in those 2 weeks. When i got to this other school nothing felt right and my roomates were pretty shady and all i wanted to do was be back in rexburg, which is funny cause at the beginning I did not want to be in Idaho! and there i was begging to go back there. It has a way of pulling your heart strings. Theres just something about BYU-I. (it helped Brandon was there too) We decided that I was supposed to be there. 2 weeks later i was back at BYU-I living in the girls side of the complex where Brandon lived at the ridge. We became closer during the fall- always with each other and when winter semester came i had nowhere to live. Brandons idea...room with my sister Brooke. I was so excited. She is so much fun and that semester I was able to grow even closer to Brandon and his family- I found out that cards at the Johnson house is no light matter! Rooming with Brooke helped our relationship move onto the next phase and soon we were talking about being togther more. I went away for a weekend and the day I came back Brandon asked me on a date we went to a movie where we were the only ones in the theatre-he asked how I felt about moving to canada- I was shocked and so excited - I wanted that stupid movie to end. That night he told me he loved me and realized how much he missed me when I went away for a weekend. To be contnued.....
