The Inaguration of President Obama...

I'm so proud to be an american today. I feel so patriotic and am so excited for what this amazing man will do with his time in office. How amazing to see history in the making- cannons going off flags waving smiles on peoples faces. I hope I can instill the love I have for being an American in my boys. I have my mom to thank for my patriotism. She's always taught me to love my country. They played a song before he took the oath of office written by John Williams-played by a violinist a cellist and a clarinet player! It had hints of my very favorite hymn All creature of our god and King- it gave me chills and brought me to tears. It had a lightness and sense of hope for me and I'm sure for many other Americans. I hope things will change for the better. A better healthcare jobs for everyone, improved economy, an end to war and confidence brought back to our nation. I loved that it had such a spiritual nature to it. Prayers, scripture, hymns. It's nice to see thats still important to so many. I also love how he says we are a friend to each and every nation. I got chills just listening to him. Your country will judge you on what you can build not what you can destroy- that was a powerfu line. A huge point on enduring to the end. I'm glad I got to see this.

My absentee ballot came in time!. I was having a crazy day yesterday and was bummed my ballot didnt come- brandon went out and checked the mail and it was here! yay! I was very excited that I'd still be able to vote. so I put my coat on and went for a run to the post office. Clenching my ballot in my pocket. It was fun to be able to feel American today. I've missed that a lot. It will be very exciting to see history in the making today. A woman the oldest man or a black man in the presidency- very cool

Why I like Obama...

I am of the opinion that America is struggling and for the first time in my life it scares me to be an American. I'm greatful I live in Canada. I think that Obama can help make universal healthcare a reality someday. If I wasnt living in Canada when I had my boys It would've cost us a fortune. C section- Twins- NICU. It feels so good to go to the hopspital anytime I need to and know that its not going to cost me anything. I'm not afraid to be healthy. So many families have crazy health problems and they shouldnt have to worry about how to pay medical bills at the same time as the trials they are going through. I feel deeply about this having had my own family go through it twice. I also think his education policies are much better. Getting kids into colleges and making it affordable. I think with a democratic senate having a democratic leader- things would actually get passed and the wheels of motion would get going. I find it interesting his campaign motto is Change we need- it surley strikes a cord with americans. Anywyas thats how i feel about this whole thing.. waiting for my absentee ballot that probabally won' t matter. Stupid people that vote soley on the fact that Mccain is republican. I'm not a member of either party. I decide whats important to me and vote accordingly. Attatched is the snl skit from the vp debate. Enjoy...
